Everything you need to know about using Kazit
Kazit is a marketplace connecting people who need tasks done with skilled workers in Nairobi. We support both local tasks (laundry, errands, deliveries, home help) and remote digital services (graphic design, web development, writing, video/audio production).
Signing up is free. Kazit charges a small platform fee on each completed transaction. The fee is transparently shown before you confirm any order or assignment.
All payments go through the Kazit wallet. Deposit money via M-Pesa, and when you order a service or assign a worker, the amount is held in escrow. Funds are only released to the worker when you (the client) confirm delivery. Workers can withdraw earnings to M-Pesa after a 24-hour clearing period.
Yes. The escrow system protects both parties. Clients are not charged until they confirm delivery, and workers are guaranteed payment for confirmed work. If there is a dispute, our team reviews the evidence and makes a fair decision.
Go to the Jobs tab and tap "Post a task." Choose a local category (e.g. Laundry, Errands), add a description, set your budget, and publish. Workers in your area will see it and can apply.
Browse the Services tab, find a listing you like, and tap "Order." You'll see the price and delivery timeframe upfront. Confirm the order, optionally add notes for the worker, and the job begins immediately.
You can chat with the worker to request revisions. If you still can't reach a resolution, raise a dispute and our team will review the evidence (chat history, delivery proof, deadlines) and make a binding decision.
You can cancel an open task at any time. For assigned or in-progress tasks, cancellation depends on the stage — if no work has been delivered, you'll receive a full refund.
Yes! On any completed digital service order, you'll see a "Reorder" button that lets you place the same order again with one click.
Sign up and apply for worker status from your profile. You'll need to submit your details for verification. Once approved, you can apply for local tasks or publish digital service listings.
When a client confirms your delivery, payment is released from escrow into your Kazit wallet. After a 24-hour clearing period, you can withdraw to M-Pesa. The platform fee is deducted automatically.
If a client doesn't respond within 72 hours of delivery, the platform may auto-release the payment. You can also raise a dispute if needed, and our team will review the situation.
For digital service listings, yes — you set the price and delivery timeframe. For local tasks, the client sets a budget and you apply at that rate.
You can request a deadline extension with a reason. The client will be notified and can approve or deny the request.
Workers are verified before they can accept jobs. All payments go through escrow. In-app chat keeps communication on the platform. Our dispute resolution team handles conflicts fairly.
Tap the support option in your profile menu, or email us at support@kazit.ke. We aim to respond within 24 hours.
